E-invoicing: what changes for a tradesperson

What it is

An electronic invoice isn't a PDF sent by e-mail. It's a structured file, transmitted over an approved network, readable by the tax administration.

Who's concerned

Every VAT-registered business in France, for business-to-business exchanges. Receiving becomes mandatory for all before issuing does.

E-reporting

Your consumer sales don't go over the network: they're declared as totals, periodically. A separate obligation, often forgotten.

What to do now

Check that your company number and registered name match the official registry EXACTLY. A spelling difference blocks enrolment, and it's the most common failure.
